The Stationery business produces elegant cotton based stationery, invitations and announcements under the William Arthur, Vera Wang and Crane & Co. brands for personal and corporate customers.
The Stationery Division, located in North Adams, has job openings for a Graphic Design Typesetter, reporting to the second shift Graphic Services Supervisor.  This is a second shift position with a schedule of 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Training will be conducted on the day shift from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for the first three months.

Responsibilities:

  • Typing, transcribing and importing blocks of text and images into page-layout software, then manipulating these elements into a legible and aesthetically pleasing product
  • Efficiently design product from scratch based on customer supplied specifications
  • Ability to typeset various types of printed pieces such as invitations, business cards, forms, letterheads, envelopes, etc.
  • Familiarity with fonts and an understanding of different graphic styles
  • Knowledge of graphic production and various printing processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting customer deadlines is required
  • Must be self-motivated, highly accurate and demonstrate the ability to learn quickly
  • Must work closely with all graphic services personnel, maintaining a consistent work volume
  • Must be able to maintain average productivity standards within lines of progression grade

Qualifications:

Qualifications – Technical:
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Design Standards to include Acrobat, InDesign, Photo Shop and Illustrator
  • Proficient in Windows based applications
  • Proficient in Outlook
  • Excellent keyboarding skills are a must, 45 w.p.m. (minimum)
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent command of the English language as it relates to grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Qualifications – Basic:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic math ability
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a teamwork environment with minimal direction
  • Must be able to read, write, keep neat and accurate records, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be very detail oriented and have the ability to interpret multiple instructions from customers
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Good work ethic, attitude and initiative
  • Dependable, trustworthy and conscientious
  • Willingness and ability to participate in cross-training skills
