Title of Position:  Executive Director: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Berkshire Community College 

Salary:                            Mid to high $70s (commensurate with education and experience) with benefits

Effective:            Spring 2014


 

 OLLI Program Description:  The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berkshire Community College (OLLI at BCC) is a membership organization affiliated with BCC and three other educational partners in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts: Bard College at Simon’s Rock, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and Williams College.  With its approximately 1,000 members, OLLI at BCC provides classes, trips, special events, and lectures that its members value.  OLLI at BCC programs are designed for people age 50 and over, but classes are open to all ages and education levels. Position Overview: The Executive Director (ED) works as liaison with OLLI at BCC’s educational partners and in concert with the president of OLLI at BCC, its Board of Directors, and BCC’s Vice President for Community Education and Workforce Development to recommend, implement, and improve OLLI at BCC’s policies, procedures, and programs to achieve and further the mission of the organization.  For more detailed information, please see the attached job description.

 

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree and at least three years of administrative experience and two years of supervisory experience.

·         At least two years of demonstrated success in a position that requires fiscal management.

·         At least two years of communication experience including writing, public speaking, and relationship-building.

·         Strong management skills.

·         Familiarity with standard office tools such as Microsoft Office suite, e-mail, and online registration systems as well as familiarity with HTML mark-up language and content management systems for web page creation and editing.

·         Experience working with a board of directors, preferred.
