The Nantucket Massachusetts Police Department is requesting your assistance in recruiting suitable persons for the position of Community Service Officer for the 2016 Summer Season.

Community Service Officers (CSO) are not armed and perform a variety of duties and services in support of basic police operations and functions which do not require the legal powers of a sworn police officer. This experience can prove to be invaluable to any individual who desires to enter the field of law, law enforcement or any of the social sciences. CSO’s are generally assigned to bicycle, foot patrol and beach patrol. CSO’s are required to purchase their own uniforms to Department specifications. The Department does provide duty belts and other duty equipment other than basic uniform apparel. The starting hourly rate for CSO’s is $16.00 per hour. Housing for the summer is available for $95.00 per week.

The hiring process consists of a criminal background check, oral interview and a physical examination. The interviews are scheduled to occur April 2 & 3, 2016. For successful applicants, there will be a training program scheduled to start on June 6, 2016 and then employment will continue through Labor Day. In order to qualify for a Reserve Police Officer position you must have previously COMPLETED an approved Basic Reserve/ Intermittent Police Academy.

Reserve Police Officers are armed and perform a variety of duties and services in support of basic police operations and functions. Reserve Police officers are generally assigned to bicycle or foot patrol and are scheduled to work day and night shifts. Reserve Officers are required to purchase their own uniforms to Department specifications. The Department does provide duty belts and other duty equipment other than basic uniform apparel. Electro- Mechanical Technician
Currently we are seeking a qualified Electro-Mechanical Technician to work in our East Longmeadow, MA facility.

JOB SUMMARY
Perform on-going maintenance on all production equipment and the general building as required.
Conduct preventative maintenance on all equipment on a weekly basis.
Troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical problems.
Identify potential problems and addresses them accordingly by working with Production, Engineering, Quality and/or Environment Health & Safety (EHS).
Maintain proper inventory levels with the utilization of the spare parts database.
Initiate purchase requisitions for needed supplies.
Create and close work orders on a daily basis to keep an accurate history of completed and pending tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, Servo’s and plant automation systems.
Multi-craft/multi-skilled in electrical, electrical controls, mechanical and pneumatics
Working and practical knowledge of plant utility systems is highly desirable, (HVAC and compressed air systems)
Associates degree in electronics or associated field from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applied industrial controls experience; Siemens Step7 strongly desired
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Good oral and written communication skills
