ASSISTANT RESIDENCE HALL SECURITY MANAGER

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The University of Massachusetts/Amherst invites applicants for the position of Assistant Residence Hall Security Manager. The individual appointed to this position works under the direction of the Residence Hall Security Program evening shift operations and provides support to the Residence Hall Security Camera Project. Responsibilities include: assisting the Residence Hall Security Manager in planning and directing the program; supervising approximately 230 student staff during the evening; and problem solving with Residence Life administrative staff and University Police as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associates Degree is Management, or related field, and one to three years’ relevant experience.
  2. One to two years direct experience supervising staff. Knowledge and experience supporting electronics and security equipment.
  3. Ability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  4. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Prefer related experience in a university or college setting.
  5. Standard work shift requires night and weekend work, and occasional off-shift and additional hours.
  6. Ability to learn new technologies without formal training.
  7. Successful completion of a background investigation; no convicts record of a felony.
  8. Possess a class D driver’s license.

Hiring Salary: $41,100-51,500. Normal starting salary: $41,100-46,300.
