Senior Vice President – Chief Information Officer

Western, Massachusetts

Our Client is a profitable, well-capitalized, growing financial institution with an excellent reputation in the markets it serves. The Bank is committed to a comprehensive technology plan and the new executive will be given the resources to successfully execute on that plan.

Based on our experience, this is an outstanding opportunity to lead the technology function for an organization solidly positioned for continued growth. The Chief Information Officer will have a “seat at the leadership table” and serve as both a strategic and tactical partner to the senior management team.  We have also worked closely with the CEO to structure an attractive performance based compensation package.

The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for providing vision and leadership in developing and implementing information technology initiatives and for managing all Information Technology strategies and initiatives.  S/he will direct the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development.  This professional is responsible for creating and implementing the Bank’s long-term technology vision and plan, ensuring it aligns and drives the Company’s business strategy, and helps support its key lines of business.  Ultimately, the Bank’s CIO will spend more time in the C-suite planning for the future and less time in the data center sustaining the past.

The CIO will be an important member of the Executive Leadership team and will report to the CEO.  S/he will help drive revenue growth through the delivery of new systems capabilities and should help improve efficiency through simplification and automation.  The CIO will enhance the Bank’s business intelligence capabilities; making it easier for key users to develop various analytics and reports needed versus having to rely on the IT department or outside vendors. Other projects include continuing to improve the desktop, laptop, and tablet software environment, expanding mobile applications, and improving video conferencing and video chat. These new functions are to aid in client acquisition, customer service and reporting, and help improve efficiency while minimizing fraud and risk.

The qualified candidate will bring:  1) Experience leading progressive technology organizations; 2) Prior exposure to either the financial services or related industries with a multi-product, multi-market focus (preferred); 3) Technical experience with information system technology, service oriented architecture, telecommunications, network and PC operating systems, and project management; and, 4) Solid leadership and interpersonal skills.
