Coming soon…..

Now that the fall semester, and my Introduction to Meteorology course have begun, forecasts for Berkshire County will soon resume. The students will not be ready to start forecasting with me for several weeks so, at first, the forecasts will be made by me (Joe Kravitz) alone. I expect to begin making forecasts within the next several days. I am awaiting a change that will make these forecasts more accessible. If one clicks on the blue “Weather Station” text in the upper-left corner of the BCC homepage one is directed to the webpage hosted by Rainwise (the manufacturer of BCCs weather station) where real-time weather data from our weather station is posted. On the right-hand side of that page is a “Forecast for Pittsfield”. At present that forecast is provided by Weather Underground and, to be honest, is not particularly good. Changes are being made to the software by Rainwise so that I (and the students) can post our forecast in that space. This should be completed within several days. I may post a more abbreviated forecast in that space and the more detailed weather discussion and forecast on this blog page but I may be able to post the entire thing on that page. What will happen is somewhat dependent on the final format that will be used. I prefer to provide “one-stop shopping” but I will have to wait to see how much space will be available…..In any case, check back in a few days for an update and my first forecast.
