Here is an updated forecast for Thursday’s storm based upon the latest model data from this morning……

Thursday and Thursday Night

Rain in the morning, mixing with snow from north to south and over the higher terrain by noon. By 2 pm it should be all snow over the higher terrain and northern portions of Berkshire County. Becoming all snow everywhere by 5 pm. Snow will taper off by 8 – 9 pm.

Snowfall totals:  A slushy inch or so in the low elevations of the south(e.g. Great Barrington)……1-2 inches in the lower elevations of central and northern Berkshire (e.g. Pittsfield)…..3-4 inches in the higher elevations to the south……3-6 inches in the hill towns of central and northern Berkshire with the highest amounts in the highest elevations. Most of the accumulation will be on grassy surfaces. However, the roads may become icy overnight as temperatures drop into the 20s.
