Basically, if you can imagine putting a radio frequency-emitting barcode on an object, and then being able to track that object’s location anywhere in the world via GPS and display that on a website or mobile device, that is the potential of the “Internet of Things.” Here’s a very cool application of the tools: a live map of the London underground. You can click the red dots (use the link above, not the image in this post) and find out exactly where a train is and when it will arrive at your station.
