The Economic Development Council of Western MA seeks a visionary, entrepreneurial leader for the Springfield Works Initiative, a new, city-wide project funded by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston to create a new and innovative model for workforce development efforts. The Executive Director, in collaboration with the Steering Committee and other community partners, will be responsible for the creation, launch, implementation, execution, and sustainability of this important new approach to our city’s workforce ecosystem, including:
- building collaborative partnerships among various sectors, organizations and residents through extensive communication and outreach
- communications of program’s opportunities and goals, through public relations, marketing and community outreach
- analysis and recommendations of best practices to improve results
- daily operational management
Requirements include: 10 years of related workforce/economic development, business or human resources management leadership experience; experience with strategic planning and execution, project management, supervision of personnel, and budget oversight; strong vision of best practices in workforce development and training; demonstrated ability and experience working with a diverse network of partners and stake holders of various backgrounds; outstanding oral and written communication skills; fundraising/grant-writing experience. Bachelor’s degree in related field; advanced degree a plus. Knowledge of website or technology-platform development and bilingual skills preferred.
