Human Rights Commission Clerk

The City of Pittsfield is seeking a clerk to provide administrative and organizational support to the Human Rights Commission.

Attendance is required at evening meetings for purposes of recording minutes.

Annual stipend: $1,000.00

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with committee chair for preparation of meeting agenda and materials.
  • Distributes meeting materials to committee members
  • Ensures that all meetings are properly posted in accordance with applicable State laws
  • Maintains an organized record keeping system of committee documents
  • Transcription of minutes, preparation of agenda, and other miscellaneous tasks are to be completed on clerk’s own time and not during regular work hours.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in clerking for local government committees preferred
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Solid organizational skills and ability for accuracy
  • Experience in filing, photocopying, scanning, emailing, and other basic office functions.
