Admin Assist to Chief Advancement Officer/MCLA


Job Description:

The Advancement Office at MCLA invites applications for an Administrative Assistant to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO).  The Administrative Assistant will help to provide support to the CAO/President of the MCLA Foundation, Inc.  and its Board of Directors, as well as to the Institutional Advancement team.   The Administrative Assistant will: answer telephone calls and email; schedule and/or make arrangements for conferences, meetings, and other similar activities; coordinate all travel arrangements for the CAO and the Director of Alumni Relations and Development; assist with managing strategic initiatives for and coordination of all fundraising events, including the capital campaign activities; compose confidential memos, reports, and letters for the CAO; manage donor acknowledgement and alumni correspondence on behalf of both the CAO and the President of MCLA; assist in the production of annual endowed fund reports; and other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Minimum of six years of office management experience and administrative support at the executive level
  • Ability to work with multiple constituents, including: students, alumni, College Board of Trustees, Foundation Directors, donors, and community leaders
  • Must have strong organizational skills, be a self-starter, and have the ability to work independently
  • Ability to maintain accurate records with attention to detail
  • Excellent writing skills with attention to grammar and punctuation
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information
  • Excellent technology skills with Microsoft Office, including presentation software and internet research
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge Software, preferred
