The Fine & Performing Arts Department at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) invites applications for a part-time, temporary Theatre Assistant for the Spring 2015 semester. The Theatre Assistant will support the Department by providing production and theater support, such as: constructing and painting scenery in preparation of theater productions, providing stage lighting, supervising student workers, and ensuring the maintenance of a safe, clean work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Theatre or Production preferred, or equivalent experience
Strong carpentry skills
Prior electrical or lighting experience
Ability to supervise student workers

Daily tasks include: answering high call volume, taking concrete orders from customers, scheduling drivers and overseeing the completion of the orders, working as a medium between fellow employees and upper management.
Overall goals: To balance the employee labor with customer service demand in a profitable fashion, taking into account many factors.
The position will provide on-the-job training, along with extensive product and technical training. The position is full time with competitive pay and very good benefits package. The job location is at 49 Clayton Rd, Canaan CT.
The applicant should be customer service savvy, computer-able, calm under pressure, and possess good problem solving skills. Mechanical and construction knowledge and/or experience is a plus.

Summary

Education, Training, and Experience

Conservation Hearing Clerk – Part Time

CONSERVATION HEARING CLERK
Under supervision of the Conservation Agent, the hearing clerk is responsible for taking roll call and minutes at approximately 16 meetings per year, held once every three (3) weeks on Thursday evenings. A typical meeting lasts about one hour.
A laptop will be made available to the Conservation Hearing Clerk for use during the meetings. Upon conclusion of the meeting, it is expected that the meeting notes will then be electronically transferred to the Conservation Hearing Clerk’s home computer to finalize the minutes. The successful candidate should have reasonable speed and skill in operating a personal computer, and the ability to maintain records. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word.
Salary: $1,000 per year
