Registar Positio – Full Time – Berkshire Community College

Title of Position:     Registrar

Salary:                       Mid $60s commensurate with education and experience

Effective:                  Fall 2014


Position Overview: Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Registrar is responsible for the administration of student credit course records including: student registration for both day and evening courses; maintenance of academic records; auditing and certification of student records for degree completion; coordination of course offerings and calendar planning; supervision of staff; and other similar duties in accordance with federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s required; master’s degree in higher education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years directly related experience in higher education.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Technologically savvy with intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations and policies related to admission of students and academic records.
  • Strong knowledge of AACRAO and FERPA guidelines.
  • Working knowledge and experience with student information systems and web based services for students.
  • Knowledge and experience using integrated databases (Colleague preferred) and data reporting and query tools (CROA preferred).
  • Experience with longitudinal tracking preferred.
  • Proven ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and communities.
  • Demonstrated skills in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data in manner that makes the information useful and facilitates effective planning, policy development, and performance assessment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications as well as ability to collaborate with and motivate others.
  • Commitment to new initiatives designed to increase student success.
