SANITARIAN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
The City of Pittsfield is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Sanitarian with the Department of Public Health. This position is responsible for conducting inspections of restaurants, housing, septic systems, public swimming pools, beaches, and other similar inspections to ensure compliance with State Sanitary codes.
The successful candidate shall possess two or more years’ experience in public health and/or environmental science, or other equivalent combination of knowledge and experience. Candidate must be certified or willing to become certified within 18 months of hire in code enforcement, sampling, asbestos and lead, food handling, and/or any other areas deemed necessary by the Director of Public Health.
Monday-Friday, 35 Hours Salary: $36,545 – $41,350
