BCC Partners with Pittsfield Promise to Kick Off Civic Engagement focus

Berkshire Community College’s Service Learning Office, as part of Vision-supported initiatives for 2012-13, has begun a Civic Education project focused on Asset Based Community Development. This project will partner a group of BCC faculty with volunteers from the United Way/Berkshire Priorities/Pittsfield promise community effort, to learn about Asset Based Community Development. A workshop will be held at BCC with consultant Sharon Vardatira of Youth Catalytics to structure the college-community collaboration. Information about this effort was shared in a WAMC interview last week, which can be read/listened to here:
