ACADEMIC ADVISING: A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH SUMMIT

Friday, June 22, 2012

8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

As an initiative through the Western Massachusetts Vision Project Exchange, Springfield Technical Community College invites local professional staff advisors and faculty advisors to explore national best practices in academic advising. Summit goals include increasing awareness of NACADA services and resources that will support more effective academic advising, as well as improving both individual academic advising skills, and overall campus academic advising programs.

A NACADA consultant will deliver a keynote discourse and provide participants the opportunity to partake in a workshop designed to enhance advising capabilities. Workshops topics aimed to captivate all interests will range from early alert systems to advising special populations. This summit promises to be a great opportunity to network and share ideas to enhance academic advising on our campuses.

A light breakfast and BBQ themed lunch will be provided.
