New BCC Weather Station

DSCN0495Welcome to weather at BCC. This website will be utilized as an educational tool for the new course, Introduction to Meteorology, being taught for the first time at BCC this fall. However, this site is accessible to the public and anyone with an interest in the weather is free to use it. A weather station (MK-III-LR), made by RAINWISE which operates out of Bar Harbor, ME has been installed on the roof of Hawthorne Hall and is now operational, providing real-time weather data.

Coming in the fall will be forecasts for Berkshire County, made every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning as part of the lab experience for students in the Introduction to Meteorology course. The forecasts will be made by the students and instructor (Joe Kravitz) together. More to come…….
