Berkshire County Forecast-Tuesday, October 22

SummaryIt appears that the developing coastal low tomorrow will be to far off the coast to impact Berkshire County. As a result, I have changed Wednesday’s forecast to reflect this, with the removal of precipitation from the forecast as well as slightly higher temperatures due to the lack of precipitation and less in the way of overcast skies. Otherwise, the forecast is unchanged, with colder air moving in for mid to late week.

Tuesday Night

Partly cloudy and much colder. Clouds increasing toward daybreak.

Low temperatures near 30 in most locations, low 30s in South County and upper 20s over the elevated terrain.

Light west-northwesterly winds becoming calm toward morning.

Wednesday

Mostly cloudy and cool. There is just a slight chance of a sprinkle or a flurry late in the afternoon.

High temperatures in the mid to upper 40s in Pittsfield, North Adams, Adams and Williamstown; upper 40s in Lee, Stockbridge, Great Barrington and Sheffield and; low 40s over the elevated terrain and hilltowns.

Light northwesterly winds.

Wednesday Night

Decreasing clouds during in the evening, partly cloudy after midnight.

Continued cold, with low temperatures near 30 in most locations, upper 20s over the elevated terrain. A freeze is possible in some locations but may be prevented by increasing winds after midnight.

Light northwesterly winds in the evening, becoming westerly at 5-10 mph after midnight, 10-15 mph over the elevated terrain.

Thursday

Partly cloudy in the morning. Becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon. There is a slight chance of a sprinkle or flurry, particularly over the elevated terrain to the north. Breezy and unseasonably cool.

High temperatures mid 40s in Pittsfield, North Adams, Adams and Williamstown; mid to upper 40s in Lee, Stockbridge, Great Barrington and Sheffield and; upper 30s to low 40s over the elevated terrain and hilltowns, depending on elevation.

Westerly winds at 10-20 mph with some higher gusts.
