Follett’s Retail Management Internship Program provides talented, business-minded college students with a 10-12 week, hands-on learning experience for the Fall semester. Throughout the semester, interns have an opportunity to work alongside Follett’s bookstore leaders in a world-class retail environment.

Each week, interns focus on a different aspect of store operations while simultaneously participating in activities and projects that contribute to their professional and personal development. Follett’s interns are paid hourly, work Part-Time (15-20 hours per week), receive an employee discount on campus store purchases and must complete pre-employment background check process.

Summary of Position:As a member of the store operations team, you will perform a variety of responsibilities that will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to store leadership team while learning all aspects of store management, including course materials management, associate development, loss prevention, shipping and receiving, merchandising, and customer service.
  • Offer outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating the ability to work independently.
  • Prepare and present a defined special project to all levels of management.

 

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled at the College/University with an anticipated graduation between December 2016 – May 2018
  • GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above
  • All majors are welcome to apply; business related curriculum is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Strong computer proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies.
  • Excellent customer service acumen.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Previous retail experience strongly preferred.

New England Public Radio (NEPR) Internship

This paid internship is for Berkshire Community College Students. New England Public Radio delivers exceptional NPR and local news, information, music, and cultural programming on air and online. We are WFCR News and Music at 88.5 FM and at other frequencies throughout the Berkshires. And we are all-news WNNZ AM 640 and 91.7 FM. It’s all at nepr.net, all the time.

Internships are offered for a minimum period of one semester with the expectation of 8-10 hours per week of student time. For paid internships, the stipend is $11 per hour. An internship may be renewed for an additional period.

Berkshire Arts Festival Internship

Opportunity for students with a particular interest in the Arts and Crafts world. May be artists/craftspeople, those with an interest in arts administration or event production. This will be a positive environment, downright fun at times.

Looking for 3 or 4 interns for June 30, July 1, 2 and 3. Hours are approximately 9am to 6pm; the days may be a bit longer on June 30 and July 3. Interns may work two, three or all four days, schedule to be determined in advance.

We will try to match interns with appropriate work for their abilities. Work may include any of the following or combination of the following:

  • Taking/ripping admission tickets
  • Helping artists unload vehicles and set up or break down display booths and load vehicles (lifting required)
  • Helping older adults navigate to the upper levels of the property
  • Staffing a booth and processing sales
  • Running errands on the premises
  • Miscellaneous other tasks
