The Home Energy Advisor travels throughout the assigned region conducting home energy assessments, implementing instant energy savings measures, and making recommendations for additional energy savings.

  • The Home Energy Advisor uses a range of technology in a customer’s home to determine the greatest energy efficiency opportunities for cost savings and improving environmental performance.
  • Using superior communication skills, the Advisor explains the energy savings opportunities, the process to achieve savings, the financial implications and the return-on-investment.
  • The Advisor communicates with staff and ensures that information is available as needed and documentation and data entry is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to the non-profit community mission of CET. To be successful at this job, you must be able to work on a tight schedule and organize yourself effectively. You must have strong math skills and an aptitude for scientific and technical concepts. Strong interpersonal skills including listening and speaking, the talent to win people’s trust, as well as the ability to translate technical language and ideas into accessible language. This position is physically demanding and requires driving, climbing ladders, lifting heavy equipment, and moving in attics and crawl spaces.

In 2013, we helped 26,000 people save $33 million and reduce the impact on the environment equal to taking 29,000 cars off the road and 12,000 homes off the grid for a year! We provide practical solutions that save energy, materials and money and have a positive impact on our environment and community. In the past 6 months, we have added more than 30 people to our dedicated team and are still looking for more.

This is a full-time salaried position with incentive pay and benefits located in our Pittsfield office. Primary work flow/assessment appointments will be scheduled in the Berkshires, MA. Some occasional travel to Northampton office. To qualify, you must have minimum 1 year experience in a field related to energy efficiency. BPI Building Analyst certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Strong math skills with excellent understanding of geometry. Experience with Internet, MS Office software and databases. Ability to learn and perform a variety of diagnostic tests. Must be able to pass drug test, driving and background check. Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and use of reliable, registered and insured vehicle with the space to transport supplies and equipment. Must have own smart phone.
