Providence Ministries for the Needy Inc. a mission-driven non-profit organization serving the greater Holyoke community, is seeking an innovative and mission-driven Executive Director. Providence Ministries for the Needy Inc., a member of the Sisters of Providence Ministry organization, has a 140 year history of providing healthcare and human services to those in need. The Executive Director has the overall strategic and operational responsibility for the staff, volunteers, programs, resource development, and marketing/community outreach for the organization. Other responsibilities include:
- Commitment to the mission and values of this faith-based organization, carrying on the legacy of the Sisters of Providence;
- In collaboration with the Board of Trustees, development of a mission-focused strategic plan and implementation tactics to guide and advance the organization;
- Utilization of best practices in operational management to achieve organizational efficiency and efficacy;
- Management of the development of fundraising plans and projects in collaboration with the resource development staff, including identifying and securing new sources of funding such as grants, major gift and corporate and individual support;
- Creation and management of a comprehensive community relations with community-based organizations, civic, business and governmental leaders, the greater ecumenical community, residents, and donors to increase the impact of Providence Ministries for the Needy;
- With staff and board support, development of a marketing/P.R. campaign including positively leveraging traditional and social media to increase awareness and support for Providence Ministries for the Needy’s programs.
The successful candidate will bring vision, passion, and strong management skills to the position, including a high degree of energy and commitment to the work and goals of the organization.
Qualifications include:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field with at least five years’ experience leading a relevant not-for-profit organization with a demonstrated commitment to serving the poor and needy in the context of a faith based mission;
- Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations applicable to not-for-profit organizations;
- Ability to develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities;
- Strategic thinker who is able to set priorities, make clear decisions that support the best interest of the organization, and create and implement action plans;
- Knowledge of the Holyoke community and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus.
