The starting rate for this position is $22.63/hr. Applicants must be United States citizens.

Responsibilities:

The Electrician – Journeyman (Grade 4) position adds value by performing the necessary installation, maintenance and repair of all assigned equipment, components and systems to include, raw materials processing, papermaking and process related equipment, paper converting equipment, mechanical power transmission components and systems, electric motors, compressors and pumps, valves and piping systems, fans and blowers, hydraulic components and systems, mechanical assemblies and material handling equipment.   This includes preventative maintenance, trouble calls, night calls and carrying out project work in all areas of manufacturing.

  • Assist and complete the installation of all electrical equipment – replacement, new and upgrades as required
  • Assist and complete the preventive maintenance and servicing of all assigned electrical equipment
  • Prioritize work/training assignments as required
  • Troubleshoot and repair of electrical equipment and systems as required
  • Safeguard all personnel and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity
  • Interact and communicate positively with peers, subordinates, supervisors and customers
  • Develop and maintain positive self-motivation
  • Maintain all documentation required, i.e., drawings, work orders, equipment history, etc.
  • Work closely with the Group Leader to plan, coordinate, schedule and perform all assigned work
  • Respond timely to supervisor and customer requests

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possess basic math skills
  • Massachusetts Electrician’s Journeyman’s License
  • At least one year of experience in an industrial maintenance environment or equivalent
  • Possess excellent trouble shooting, fault analysis and problem solving skills
  • Experience troubleshooting 480vac 3 phase motor control systems
  • Experience with VFDs
  • Understand, follow and abide by, all applicable laws, regulations & codes (i.e., MGL, NEC, MEC, NFPA, OSHA, and BOCA).
  • Working knowledge of, and demonstrated proficiency in,
  • Electrical properties of mill equipment
  • Electric battery technology and applications
  • Electro-mechanical (i.e., motors, generators, etc.) equipment technology and applications
  • Programmable logic control equipment, operations and programming.
  • Electrical protective devices
  • Use of electrical tools and installation/service equipment (i.e.: hydraulic benders, pullers, etc.)
  • AC and DC electrical circuits
  • Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear equipment, technology, maintenance and servicing
  • Solid State AC & DC electrical/electronic drive and inverter systems
  • Construction, installation, maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of industrial electrical power distribution and control systems
  • Use of test equipment for electrical measurements, data collection and fault analysis (i.e.: meters, meggers, oscilloscopes, recorders, etc.)
  • Reading and interpreting blueprint drawings, schematics and diagrams of electrical components/systems and installing, troubleshooting and repairing same from these
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and call-ins as needed
  • Capable of working at elevated heights, i.e. from ladders, staging, elevated platform lifts, etc.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and utilize personal motor vehicle for transportation between Company locations
  • Ability to pass and maintain security clearance through the U.S. Treasury Dept.
