Title of Position: Non-Credit Instructors:  Adult Basic Education (ABE): Levels GLE0-5 and GLE6-12

Salary: $26.65/hr. (part-time, grant-funded, non-benefitted)

Effective: August 2014


Overview:  The College is seeking non-credit instructors in Adult Basic Education (ABE) responsible for providing instruction to adult learners who wish to obtain their high school equivalency credential. These courses will be offered during the day beginning in late August in Great Barrington. Instructors will have strong involvement with student support services including, but not limited to, advising, assessments, and student goals.  In addition, instructors will participate in weekly staff meetings; participate in program’s curriculum development phases; work with staff in the College’s advising center and/or workforce development programs; work with the College’s liaison at BerkshireWorks Career Center; maintain attendance records, lesson plans, student education and career plans; participate in professional development activities as required by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE); attend new staff orientation if appropriate; and perform related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:  The successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and at least 2 years’ experience working with adult learners.
  • Ability to teach learner-centered class using ABE curriculum
  • Good organizational skills for maintenance and follow up on students
  • Ability to work inclusively, effectively, and flexibly with diverse faculty, staff, and student populations
  • Familiarity with and ability to use the 2014 Massachusetts High School Equivalency Assessment (HiSET)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience working in community college post-secondary environment
  • Some experience administering standardized assessments (MAPT, Best+, and/or TABE Class E)

Position:        Bulb Sale Coordinator

Salary:            $12.50/hr

Hours:           10-20 hours per week, except 40 hours during the last week

This is a temporary, part-time position with the potential for growth

Berkshire Conservation District is seeking a part-time Bulb Sale Coordinator to start immediately to coordinate and oversee the 2014 Fall Bulb Sale fundraiser. The position will run July through October with the possibility of extending into next year for the 2015 spring seedling sale. There is also the possibility, should the right candidate be found, to hire the incumbent at more hours and responsibilities to also serve as part-time office administrator.

The incumbent must be trustworthy, responsible, and organized. The Coordinator is responsible for processing customer orders, confirming orders and shipments with wholesale suppliers, media outreach and publicity, updating the customer database, coordinating volunteers, overseeing sale work week and sale pickup day, and handling overstock sales and donations. Experience with coordinating events and volunteers is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Computer skills: spreadsheets and word processing, MS Office Programs (including Access and Excel)
  • Multi-tasking, staying organized, meeting deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Coordinating and leading volunteers

Outreach Case Manager – Full-Time in Pittsfield

Ø  This position provides case management for persons-served The Continuum under the Caring Together program. The Outreach Case Manager will coordinate and collaborate with youths, families, residential treatment providers, clinicians and others regarding treatment plan development, strategies for intervention and implementation. 4-year degree in a related-field is required.

Site Supervisor(s) – Community Services – Full-Time in Pittsfield

Ø  These positions include responsibility for site operations and Recovery Facilitator staff development, staff supervision and implementation of treatment plans.

Wellness Specialist – Full-Time in Pittsfield

Ø  This position provides wellness and recovery education, support and activities to individuals served. Activities include movement, nutrition, mindfulness and social health topics.

Child and Adolescent In-Home Therapist(s) – Full-Time in Pittsfield

Ø  These individuals will work as part of a dynamic team, providing In-Home Behavioral Health Services. Also completing diagnostic mental health assessment and providing treatment for youth and caregivers on an outreach basis throughout Berkshire County.

Clinical Service Coordinator I or II – Caring Together Program – Part-Time in Pittsfield

Ø  This position provides mental health treatment and psychotherapy, case management, and treatment planning for youth and families receiving Caring Together services. Caring Together is a newly awarded contract that will provide a “Continuum” of community-based wraparound services that are designed to maintain youth within their homes and support families as their primary caregivers. Position requires independent license in social work or mental health counseling (LICSW or LMHC) OR eligibility and receipt of license within 6 months of eligibility date.

Clinicians (Social Workers/Mental Health Counselors) – Available in the following Divisions: Adult, Child and Adolescent Outpatient; Acute Services; Substance Use Disorders – Full and Part-Time and Fee-For-Service in all of Berkshire County

Ø  These positions provide a full continuum of therapeutic and clinical services. These services are provided for children, adolescents, adults and families in a variety of settings throughout Berkshire County and include risk assessment, crisis intervention, family support and psychotherapy. All clinicians must receive license in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling within 6 months of eligibility date. Emergency Services Clinicians do not require license eligibility.

Shifts Available:All clinician positions are weekdays and some may include Saturday, with the exception of Acute Services which is a 24/7 program, requiring nights, weekends and holidays.

Community Services Clinician (Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts) – Full-Time in Pittsfield

Ø  This position provides recovery services to adults within the Community-Based Flexible Supports Program in Central Berkshire County. All clinicians must receive license in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling within 6 months of eligibility date.
