Neenah Paper is recognized as a world-class manufacturer of premium writing, text, cover, specialty and private watermark and technical papers. We are currently looking for a Lab Technician to support our Technical Products business in Pittsfield, MA.
Lab Technician
The Lab Technician is responsible for the preparation of various product development samples, reports, performing a variety of tests and recording results.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
• Maintains sample department; prepares, product and literature packages and ships in sheet form (8 ½” X 11”) and/or roll form as requested by customers.
• Create hand sheets for internal development efforts and/or customer samples.
• Perform requested testing of hand sheets.
• Ensure accurate recording and reporting of all data and information applicable to development efforts.
• Coordinate and ensure timely completion and follow-up on all outsourcing of tests.
• Proper maintenance of all lab chemicals, ensuring accurate labeling and shelf life.
• Maintenance and updating of Material Safety Data Sheets notebook and communications to appropriate personnel regarding revisions.
• Ensure any new materials entering the lab have been approved by the R & D Manager and Safety & Environmental Manager.
• Provide support to other R & D team members as defined by line manager.

Education & Experience
• Associates degree in chemistry, polymer science or engineering.
• Knowledge of Nonwovens product properties/processes and quality system documentation
• Knowledge of safe handling and storage of chemicals, binders, and fibers
• Knowledge of manufacturing and converting operations, product testing, laboratory equipment maintenance and calibrations
• Knowledge of Nonwovens product performance, instrumentation and testing equipment
• Knowledge of computer systems, software applications and reporting requirements
• Knowledge of raw materials, personnel planning and scheduling
• Knowledge of OSHA, ISO 9001, customer and internal requirements as they relate to product development efforts

Secure $3 million in resources annually, oversees the management of over 200 workplace campaigns, secures corporate gifts and sponsorships and maintains communication with over 8,000 donors. Reporting to the CEO and working with a team of passionate staff, volunteers and Board of Directors, the DOD implements year round donor prospecting, cultivation and stewardship strategies, including individual donor meetings, to grow and deepen relationships with donors, business leaders and the community. The DOD works closely with marketing staff on donor communications, recognition and events. CO-DIRECTOR OF MENTORING
SHANNON GRANT INITIATIVE
The City of Pittsfield is hiring a Co-Director of Community Mentoring as part of the Shannon Grant Initiative that is part of the Executive Office of Public Safety.
The Co-Director will jointly manage a community mentoring program aimed at working with high-risk youth, including by conducting the following actions:
1. Screen, interview, and recruit potential mentors,
2. Match mentors with appropriate mentees,
3. Develop and implement an orientation and two training sessions for mentors,
4. Assist in the facilitation of regular meetings of mentors,
5. Maintain regular contact with mentors and address any problems as they arise,
6. Develop monthly group activities for mentors and mentees to attend,
7. Work with relevant community groups and businesses to solicit activities for mentors/mentees.
The desired candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
2. Capability of developing and maintaining relations with youth and a wide range of community members
3. Be a self-starter willing to take on a wide range of tasks
4. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
5. Must be community oriented
Part time position
The Co-Director will primarily work during business hours, but must be available on-call for use as needed.

Blandford Golf Club Seasonal Independent Contractor/Food Service

BLANDFORD GOLF CLUB FOOD SERVICES
Description of Establishment:

The Blandford Club is a golf and tennis club (www.massgolftennis.com) with approximately 150 members with three dining facilities including a banquet room, a luncheonette and a seated dining area; seating approximately 80, 12, and 28 respectively, and a basic kitchen with the essential components. A $50 food credit is part of the membership fee.

There are many regularly scheduled events and special occasions which require food service and also opportunities to provide dining experiences to the community. Members and non-members also host private parties for special occasions e.g. birthdays, funerals and weddings, etc. which require food service.
Type of Cuisine:
Four basic types of menus should be provided – Lunch, Buffet Dinners, Seated Dining (with menu) and Sunday Brunch, Lunch. Suggestions below can be modified, more detailed and finalized with the candidate.

Lunch:
Sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese, salads, chips.

Buffet Dinners:
Salad, Choice of 2 – meat, chicken or fish; Starch, Vegetables, Dessert – $12 (one meat) or $15 (two meats)

Seated Dining:
Salad, Three to four entrees, Starch, Vegetables, Dessert – (from menu) – Fixed price $17

Sunday Brunch:

The Blandford Club does not have a liquor license, but will charge a corkage fee for wine. If there is waitress/waiter service, tipping is expected, otherwise there is a flat charge for food service. All food will be paid by food credits or credit card.

• Plan and propose menus to Concessionaire Manager
• Hire waiter/waitress staff
• Responsible for procurement and preparation of food

• Computer tracking of revenues
Qualifications:
• Must be a certified licensed food provider – minimum 3 years food preparation experience
• Must demonstrate an in-force General Liability policy

• Ability to prepare meals quickly
• Ability to procure proper amounts of food and minimize waste
• The applicant will be accompanied by another person who could assist in providing the food service

Food will be served a total of 25 hours per week. Additional time will be required to procure and prepare food and clean-up.
