Summary

The Direct Care Staff assists individuals with disabilities in daily living skills, to help them achieve self-fulfillment through their life goals and desires.

Required Skills

The ability to provide direct outreach services to program participants living in the community. The ability to work independently in a team environment is necessary, as is flexibility to meet program needs. Knowledge of and respect for diverse populations is required.

Education, Training, and Experience

High School diploma or GED, one year of college is desirable. One year paid employment, community service and/or training. One year of supervisory or human service experience desired.

Other Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, the use of vehicle, and the willingness to transport program participants in a personal vehicle. Desire to do meaningful work and make a difference in someone’s life a must. Bilingual/Bicultural experience is an asset.

Title: Supported Living Coordinator

Work Location: Pittsfield, MA

Summary

The Supported Living Coordinator provides direct outreach services to individuals with disabilities to enable them to achieve greater independence. The focus of this position is identifying and providing supports to adults with disabilities. Develops and maintains positive working relationships that assist consumers in achieving self-fulfillment through their life goals and desires.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate must possess organizational and creative abilities, as well as the ability to work independently in a team environment, and be flexible to meet program needs. Knowledge of community agency systems and group and individual counseling skills are required. A broad range of interpersonal skills are needed to work with program participants, community households, and other professionals.

Education, Training, and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with five years related experience OR Master’s degree in human service field and three years related experience.
