Let’s Talk Equality in Pittsfield

What do we owe each other? How can we deliver on the promise of equality that animates our democracy?

Mass Humanities celebrates its fortieth anniversary with a film-and-discussion program that takes on urgent questions about the American social contract today.

Join moderator Elizabeth Duclos-Orsello for a 2-hour conversation followed by a reception. We will show clips selected from among the NEH’s Created Equal films (The Loving Story and ;Freedom Riders) as well as from The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers, a film funded by Mass Humanities.

Free and open to the public. Registration is required.

NEACAC College Fair

BCC Admissions will be hosting the NEACAC (New England Association for College Admission Counseling) College Fair Thursday, October 2nd from 9:00-11:00 AM in the Paterson Field House.

 

Approximately 140 colleges/universities from around the country will be represented. This is a great opportunity for our students who are considering transfer. Most of our area high schools will be bringing their students as well.

BCC’s Soccer Team Event – September 27th

Come and cheer on the new BCC Falcon’s Soccer Team slated to play its first game against Simon’s Rock on the main field behind Paterson Field House on Sat., Sept. 27th at 7 p.m. under the lights!

The game is free and open to the public, and the National Anthem will be sung by one of our current BCC Theatre students.

BCC will also play an away game at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington on Sat., Oct. 25 at 3 p.m.

“I never imagined that homelessness was an issue in south Berkshire County!” is the #1 response she gets when people ask what ‘What’s Construct?’ Join Cara Davis, Executive Director of Construct, Inc., for a talk about the housing, economic and personal issues that contribute to poverty and homelessness in the southern Berkshire region. She will discuss the important work Construct does in the area, its unique history, and the impact that personal and community action have upon ending homelessness. Construct serves hundreds of people in southern Berkshire County each year with a continuum of housing options and other related services.
