The Community Liaison will work under the direction of the Pittsfield Community Connections’ Program Director to aid in the management of the Shannon Grant Initiative and the Safe and Successful Youth Initiative in conjunction with the requirements set forth in the agreement between the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services and the Pittsfield Police Department. The mission of Pittsfield Community Connections is intended to support regional and multi-disciplinary approaches to combat gang violence through coordinated programs for prevention, intervention, suppression, prosecution and reintegration.
Candidates should possess strong interest in Pittsfield community relations, excellent skills in public speaking, and possess the ability to work a flexible, variable schedule that will include some evening and weekend work, as well as attending community held events.
Salary: $35,000 – $40,000 annually
Responsibilities:
- Work with the community to bring resources together to provide opportunities for education jobs and support to the clients served.
- Work with all relevant agencies and employers to ensure that the appropriate coordination of services are available to meet the needs of the clients.
- Work with clients and outside agencies to assure seamless care from all collaborators
- Collaborate with staff so that communications and systems are coordinated for effective treatment planning and implementation.
- Provide education to the community about the program its mission and needs.
- Performs other duties as required for the program, as directed by the Program Director, Fenn Street Community Development, the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services or other grant funders.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution in relevant field
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with local community agencies and/or employers in a human services capacity.
- Ability to track data, analyze underlying principles of said data and draw conclusions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to present publicly in front of large audiences, media sources, etc.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, including employees and members of the community.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Ability to work a flexible, variable schedule that will include some evening and weekend work, as well as attending community held events.
