Responsibilities:

To plan and implement an educationally sound preschool program which includes nurturing, and meeting the needs of individual children with differing levels of development and emotional needs. The teacher will be responsible for implementing all EEC regulations and assuring the safety and well being of the children at all times.. S/he will be responsible for orienting and providing direct supervision to assistants, aides, volunteers and students regarding classroom safety, procedures and responsibilities. If interested in Lead Teacher position, additional responsibilities will include submitting a weekly literacy based lesson plan to the Director, completing progress reports in a timely fashion as outlined by EEC, maintaining materials, equipment and classroom, and carrying out the philosophy and policies of CCB.

Qualifications:

  •  B.A. or A.A. in Early Childhood preferred. Career path in early childhood education favored.
  • Must meet or be actively working to meet EEC teacher qualifications.
  • Minimally 9 months experience and child development class.
  • Must demonstrate dependability, maturity and flexibility
  • Must be in good health, free of contagious disease, and have up-to-date immunizations.
  • Must demonstrate nurturing skills with children, cooperativeness with adults and commitment to professional development.
  • Understands and implements developmentally appropriate practices for preschools.

Salary Range:

$8 – $13 per hour – depending on certification, education, and experience – with full-time/part-time benefit package: paid holiday, vacation, sick, and personal time, insurances, 403(b) retirement options.

 The City of Pittsfield is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Principle Clerk within the Office of the Tax Collector. The Clerk is responsible for collecting and receiving revenue which includes parking fines, real estate taxes, excise taxes, water & sewer fees, and various department billings. Additional responsibilities of the Principle Clerk include but are not limited to: inputting and scanning all transactions on computer terminals, balancing cash drawer and preparing deposits, producing and balancing daily update reports, assisting general public via telephone and at tax office window, and all other related clerical work in accordance with previously mentioned duties.

The candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to handle and deal effectively with the public. In addition, the candidate should possess previous experience with cash handling procedures, as well as working in a fast-paced office environment. The City of Pittsfield is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Assistant Tax Collector within the Office of the Tax Collector.  The Assistant Tax Collector provides technical assistance in support of the office’s responsibilities, including but not limited to: collecting and receiving revenue; assisting banks, finance companies, law offices, and members of the general public with information pertaining to current and delinquent real estate taxes, personal property taxes, water & sewer charges, and municipal liens; supervises and assists Principle Clerks; and performs all other duties as assigned. The Assistant Tax Collector shall assist the Tax Collector in the performance of their duties, and shall perform those duties when the Collector is absent or there is a vacancy in that position. The Assistant Tax Collector will also serve as the Parking Clerk/Hearings Officer for the City.

Candidates shall possess the following required/preferred qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, Associate’s degree in related field strongly preferred.
  • Three to five years’ of relevant experience in financial, banking, or municipal setting is required, with thorough working knowledge on general laws pertaining to tax collection.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to handle and deal effectively with the public.
  • Previous experience with cash handling procedures and working in a fast-paced office environment highly desired.
  • Proficient computer skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other software programs as needed for the job.

Director of Facilities – Full Time – Berkshire Community College

Position Overview:  Reporting to the Vice President for Administration & Finance, the Director is responsible for the planning and direction of facilities management and operations including: site utilities and solar array; HVAC; skilled trades; safety/security/parking/emergency preparedness; custodial (maintainer) services; central services (mail services, copy center, shipping, receiving, and moving); campus-based construction projects; maintenance of athletic complex (field house, athletic fields, tennis courts, and swimming pool); sustainability and recycling programs; hazardous and non-hazardous waste; automated building and energy management systems; and other related services necessary for the operations, maintenance, and construction of college facilities and safety/security of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.  Current construction projects include working with the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance in the $23 million renovation of two academic buildings.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline preferred or a Bachelor’s degree plus equivalent experience in engineering or related field.  Five years of supervisory and/or administrative experience in work directly related to administration and/or management of a physical plant.  Ability to write bid specifications as well as manage contractors and contract services.  Ability to collaborate with and motivate others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.

Position Overview:  Reporting to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, the Research Analyst is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties including: serving as an advocate, resource, and facilitator for assessment of learning outcomes at the course, program, and institutional level; institutional data retrieval and reporting procedures and planning functions for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness; overseeing the preparation of all external institutional surveys; monitoring the tracking of all institutional, faculty and student data necessary to meet performance accountability standards and maintain annual state and federal compliances; and other analogous duties necessary to assist and support the Director in meeting the multiple diverse functions of the IE Office.  In the absence of the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, assumes responsibilities for the position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of research experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in use of statistical/analytical methods and tools that support research and assessment required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working with, higher education or similar database systems, e.g., Datatel or similar relational database systems, data marts, and warehouses in organizing data for production of high quality statistical/analytical tables, charts, graphs required.  Knowledge and experience with Datatel preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with federal and state data reporting including IPEDS preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of higher education institutional business practices, processes, operations and data systems preferred.

Qualifications:
