About the winery: Founded in 2011, Balderdash Cellars is a boutique winery located in downtown Pittsfield, MA. We focus on producing fine wines from grapes grown by world-class California vineyards. We currently produce almost 2,000 cases per year.
Position: Tasting room associate
Responsibilities: • Greet and serve guests; provide exceptional tasting experience that generates life-long customers
• Describe wines (in depth with technical terms when necessary)
• Effectively suggest and sell wine to customers
• Accurately handle routine purchasing transactions
• Assist customers with the carry out of purchases to their vehicles when necessary
• Provide general tourist information of the area
• Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of winery and its wines
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Requirements: • Outstanding ability in customer service and working with the public
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• General wine knowledge and interest to learn more
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must be able to work weekends
• Speak fluent English
• Ability to stand for long periods of time; lift 50 lbs repeatedly
Hours: Primarily weekend afternoons
