Salaried position available in one of our new Developmental/ Brain Injury Services residences in Pittsfield. Lead a group of dedicated professionals fostering independence. Competitive pay and excellent benefits. 

  Responsibilities:

  • Position includes 3pm-11pm Thursday and Friday with client ratio.
  • If necessary, the start-up of the program, the setting up of the house or apartment, furnishing, hiring staff, program development, etc.
  • The overall physical operation of the program.
  • The daily affairs and welfare of the consumers.  This includes areas of nutrition, dress, sleep, medical services, dental services, social services, and the use of money, if needed.  Finally, that the consumers are involved in an appropriate day activity and recreational program suited to their needs and abilities.
  • Recruitment, hiring, disciplining, training, supervision and evaluation of staff and volunteers.
  • Making decisions in times of crisis in the absence of the Director of Residential Services.
  • Creating and maintaining communication with parents, hospitals, doctors, and appropriate personnel in community agencies in situations not requiring administrative contact.
  • Function as liaison between the Developmental and Brain Injury Services Director and program staff workers.  Keeping channels of communication open.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Director to coordinate program business/supervision.
  • Attend all meetings relating to the program and consumer programming and have the authority to call additional staff meetings as necessary.
  • Provide, in the interest of the previously mentioned responsibilities, 24-hour coverage of the community program.  Responsibilities to arrange coverage when assigned staff are not available.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with clients, customers, staff, co-workers, and supervisors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Management/supervisory experience
  • BA in related field and three years experience working with DDS population
  • Med. Certification and good writing skills a plus
