College Entry Essay – Google Docs
This was the essay that I wrote back in high school to show colleges who I was, what I had done during my time at Wahconah, and what my future plans looked like, so I could hopefully get accepted and I still think it holds relevance today. I may have not been accepted into many colleges, or even had a lot of colleges that I was seriously looking into, but I still think I know where I want to be. The resume mentions the many opportunities that I had in high school such as the National Business Honor Society, Be Strong, or National Society of High School Scholars all of which would be incredible achievements on their own, but was even more amazing considering that doctors said I would need an I.E.P through my entire academic career. Another one of the things that I feel like this essay shows is something I have been doing for a long time: proving people wrong. When I was diagnosed with Autism when I was three many people said that I was going to struggle in school, that I was always going to need an I.E.P, and yet I am here today still moving forward and staying strong. My mom was told that I would always need a counselor and an I.E.P and when I told my teachers that I didn’t think that I needed it, they agreed and my Mom was very happy that I was the one to make that decision. While I do have Autism I don’t feel like it truly defines who I am, like it’s just a piece of my life, a small piece in this puzzle that is my story. I have had a lot of help over the years, my family has been a huge help not only just encouraging me but also being there when I struggle. They always want me to succeed and I never want to let them down. I think by just trying to do my best work, they are always proud of me. Even if I need help as long as I tell them that I need it they will try to help me find what ways work the best for me.
