While I am pursuing a career in healthcare, writing creatively is a vital part of my life. This is what originally inspired me to join the liberal arts program, and I would like for writing to become a part of my life in some way. Below are a few samples of creative pieces that I have created during my time at BCC. I hope these pieces offer some insight to my passion for writing and give you a better picture of me as a whole.
PLACE PAPER-The Illusion of Privacy
The place paper prompt was to write about a place. Most of the inspiration we were given was representative of a singular physical place, and I tried to rework the idea of the assignment. This paper was written for Advanced Composition, and represents some of the ways I express myself.
ESSAY-Exploration of a Question
This essay was written in response to an assignment in Comp I, where we chose a question and began the process of exploring the answer in whatever way we felt best. This was one of the very first papers I wrote for my educational journey and it is still a favorite of mine.
In this analysis, I discuss the role satire plays in politics today. I chose this piece as one to share with you particularly because in reviewing it, I realized I would write this paper quite differently now, however I feel it is well written enough to “make a good point” to my future self. I enjoyed re-reading it and felt it was a well rounded representation of how I express ideas and opinions.
