Learning Sociology in the Time of Covid

Most students who take an introduction to sociology class don’t take another sociology class. That begs the question – why do we ask students to take this class? The short answer is that it helps people understand the effect of society on the individual. It also helps them see how the system works which, from an individual standpoint, can help people more successfully navigate it. In other words, if you can’t see the route that society makes most easy to travel, it is harder to either travel it or change it.

During this pandemic, it becomes even more valuable to see what the path was and be able to understand how it changes as we all adapt. This blog speaks to that issue in the context of a sociology class.
