Work Out Wednesday

Welcome back on this wonderful Wednesday dear readers! I hope you’re doing your best to stay healthy and help to flatten the curve. We all are dealing with a lot right now and everyone is looking for ways to reduce stress and still keep fit.Woman working out It can all be so overwhelming these days with everything going on in the world and we all need an outlet to release the stress and anxiety that can build up. Taking time to exercise during our extended “stay in” period is a great way to stay healthy and also develop a new work out routine.

Get up, stay in and get moving!

As the days go by, some of us are spending more time behind our computers and phones. From trying to stay connected with friends and family, doing our work from home, or keeping up with school work, you may be feeling like you are having issues with stiff necks and shoulders. Below is a 10 minute yoga routine you might helpful for all the stress and tension that may be building up in these areas. Give it a try!

Maybe yoga isn’t necessarily your thing and you want to work up a sweat, I got something for you as well! Below is a fun and easy cardio dance workout for those of you are looking to really get your heart rate up. Feel free to have fun by yourself, include those who live with you, or connect and do it with others using a video chat platform.

Whatever the excise or workout, its important to just get moving!  With all of these available hours to sit and binge watch shows or scroll through social media, we all still need to be active. A good way to do that is to find a video or routine that you enjoy doing. There is an endless variety of videos, live streams and articles with suggestions for great ways to get a quality workout for free or low cost. Some gyms are even offering online classes during this time when we all should be staying in and practicing social distancing.

Try something new to help you get excited about getting up and active.

So, try something new to get you up and active during this time. You may just find your new routine that you will enjoy doing from now on. Exercising for some of us isn’t a normal routine and if you are just starting my advice is to just take it slow.Sunset workout Listen to your body and do what you can. Just have fun and do what you can, no one is judging you. This is something you are doing for you and your health, not to impress others. So dance around, follow along with the videos above or take a walk in your neighborhood, whatever you prefer, just get up and get moving!
