As you may know, BCC will be piloting the Chalk and Wire Eportfolio 2 product as part of our ongoing core competency implementation. Just yesterday I successfully input into Eportfolio the critical thinking core competency rubric, complete with its unacceptable, acceptable, and superior levels. Next, I set up a test student account and uploaded a paper as a submission for the CT competency, checking off myself as the “assessor.” Then I logged back in as me, went to “My Assessments” and found the paper. The eportfolio system allowed me to view the paper in a split screen: the CT rubric on top, and the paper submitted below. IT WORKS! It’s a little rudimentary and not pretty yet, but we have liftoff. Stay tuned for further updates when Chuck Prescott, Adam Emerson and yours truly return from Eportfolio training at the end of June.
