Pick and Deliver Fruit to Those in Need

Company Name: Backyard Bounty of the Berkshires
Location: South County in the Berkshires

Backyard Bounty of the Berkshires is a newly formed volunteer project that will pick fresh fruit from trees of homeowner growers in South County and deliver that fruit to those in need via local food distribution organizations and the Food Bank of Western Mass.

You can get more information on Backyard Bounty from our website www.BackyardBountyBerkshires.org.

Backyard Bounty is affiliated with The Nutrition Center (essentially piggybacking on their 501(c)(3) designation). We also recently received a grant from Green Pastures which is an arm of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation so we have the funds we need to carry out this effort.

We expect the harvesting period to take place during late Summer and Fall. We won’t know the picking schedule for some time but we can be flexible about when people are needed to pick the fruit.

In the meantime, anyone interested can visit it website or directly email backbo2016@gmail.com.
