2014-2015 Winter Employment Opportunities

ACCOUNTING – Cashroom personnel. Requires a high level of accuracy and ability to process transactions quickly.  A background in bookkeeping and cash handling is required.

 

ADVENTURE PARK ATTENDANTS – Responsible for performing daily safety checks on equipment, completing safety and inspection logs, and maintaining a clean and professional appearance of the Adventure Park. In addition the Adventure Park Attendants will communicate with Resort Services to ensure all liability and ticketing procedures are carried out properly within the operational guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong guest services skills, attention to detail, computer knowledge to operate point of sales operations and ability to multi task in a fast paced environment. Ability to lift 75 lbs and work outdoors in all types of weather conditions for extended periods of time is required. Previous experience is preferred.

 

COLEMAN BROOK TAVERN – A 250-seat casually elegant full service restaurant and lounge, Coleman Brook Tavern has positions for Servers, Bartenders, Hosts/Hostess, Cooks and Dishwashers. Previous experience required for Servers, Cooks and Bartender positions.

 

CHILD CARE – Childcare Providers and Teachers/Assistant Teachers.  Must have previous experience with child development or course work and a willingness to take additional instruction within the first year of employment.

 

RACING COMPETITION CENTER- Coaches, Race Crew & Administrative Staff.  Previous coaching experience is preferred.

 

FACILITIES OPERATIONS – Grounds Crew, Condo Maintenance, Transport/Snowmobile Personnel and Pool Attendants.  These positions may require a driver’s license and ability to drive a transport/snowmobile vehicle.

 

GROUNDS CREW – Responsibilities include mowing, weed whacking, fertilizing, planting and removal of trees during the summer. This is a Full Time seasonal position to continue through the winter and would include shoveling, snow blowing, plowing, sanding, re-stocking fire wood and maintenance of walk ways.  Bob Cat and plowing experience preferred.  A valid driver’s license required.

 

GROOMING – Groomers.  Previous heavy equipment operating experience is required.

 

GROUP SALES REPRESENTATIVES – The Sales Representative is involved with daily group ticketing operations, group reservations, and administrative work. Experience required includes excellent communications by phone, voice and written correspondence, as well as strong computer and mathematical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required and knowledge of ACT! a plus.

 

HOUSEKEEPING – Individuals must have the ability to take direction and work independently in a fast paced environment. Some heavy lifting required. These positions are Full Time and Part Time Seasonal including weekends and holidays and may require a valid driver’s license.

 

HOUSEPERSON – Responsibilities include the interior maintenance of the properties including vacuuming, cleaning windows and stocking linen and supplies.  Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work weekends and holidays with a flexible schedule that includes day and evening shifts.

 

ICE HOUSE ATTENDANTS – Responsibilities include the opening and closing duties of the Ice House, monitoring the quality of the skating surface, assisting users with skate rentals and providing assistance to guests.  These positions may require cash handling and computer skills depending on the location of the position. Ability to work independently and strong guest service skills required.

 

LIFT OPERATIONS – Lift Operators, Ticket Checkers & Orchestrators. Strong communication and guest service skills preferred. The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions is required.

 

LODGING/ WELCOME CENTER – Reservationists, Bellmen and Front Desk Clerks. Individuals should have strong communication, computer and problem solving skills. Previous sales experience a plus.

 

PHONE CENTER PERSONNEL – Responsibilities include responding to general resort information inquiries and scheduling reservations for the Ski + Ride School programs, including Day Care, Snow Stars, Ski + Ride School, and Women’s Alpine Adventures.  Applicants must have strong computer and guest services skills.  Previous phone center experience is preferred.

 

RESORT SERVICES FRONT DESK – Responsibilities include guest service, accurately selling and scheduling appropriate products and reservations which include lessons, season passes, gift cards, rentals and all ticketing products. Also, answering questions and dispersing information regarding all programs and general information about Okemo. The ideal candidate will have strong guest services skills, attention to detail, computer knowledge to operate point of sales operations, cash handling experience and ability to multi task in a fast paced environment.

 

RESORT SERVICES ASSISTANT DESK MANAGER – Responsibilities include the dissemination of mountain and general information, and oversight of daily operations.  The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organization skills, ability to make sound decisions, knowledge of Microsoft Office software, and the ability to ski/snowboard with knowledge of the equipment to accurately access needs.   The ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods and to travel between departments in all weather conditions is required.  Previous experience in a guest oriented environment preferred.

 

MARKETING VIDOGRAPHER – Responsibilities include video strategy for the resort, video production and distribution of video content. The marketing videographer is responsible for all aspects of video production including storyboarding, scripting, shooting, editing, creating graphics and special effects, formatting, uploading, posting and distributing video projects.   Experience with digital video camera and professional editing software required. The videographer will collaborate with marketing staff to create content that appeals to the resort’s diverse range of visitors and capture content (snowfall, conditions, events, etc.) to generate exposure and drive business to Okemo. Must be willing to work flexible hours based on individual project requirements and have the ability to ski or snowboard at an advanced level.

 

NIGHT CUSTODIANS – Second shift work with additional time required for banquets and special functions. Individuals must have the ability to take direction and work independently.

 

TERRAIN PARKS & PIPE MANAGER – Responsibilities include the overall operation of the Terrain Parks and Pipes including the design, implementation, maintenance and daily inspections of the elements in the parks and pipes.  This position is also responsible for coordination of all special events in the parks and pipes.  Management duties include interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling of staff.  Ability to ski or snowboard all terrain at an advanced level on the mountain is required.   Candidates must have experience operating groomers, ATVs and snowmobiles.  Candidates should also have strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to lead others and work in a team environment.

 

RENTAL & REPAIR SHOP – Boot and Rental Technicians, Tuning Tent Attendants, Mechanics & Cashiers.  May require experience, however training is available.

 

RESTAURANT STAFF – Bussers, Dishwashers, Hosts/Hostess and Banquet staff. Previous experience may be required for Cashiers, Servers, Cooks, and Management/Supervisory Staff.

 

SHUTTLE SERVICES – Shuttle Drivers.  CDL with passenger endorsement required.

 

SKI AND RIDE SCHOOL INSTRUCTORS – Individuals must be a strong, stable skier or rider with a desire to teach all age groups.  Positions require passing an on-snow ability test.  Previous experience is not required and training is available.

 

SKI AND RIDE SCHOOL SUPERVISORS – Supervisors help to oversee the daily operations of the Ski + Ride School, including assigning and checking classes, training and documentation, and other duties as assigned. This position requires the ability to work and communicate with staff and guests at all levels.  The ability to lift, handle changes in climate, and perform long periods of standing, sitting, walking and bending required.  Candidates must have previous ski/snowboard teaching experience, the ability to ski or snowboard all terrain and a PSIA/AASI level 2 certification or higher.

 

SKI & SNOWBOARD SHOP PERSONNEL – Responsibilities include sales, customer service, merchandising, and warehouse receiving.  Strong math skills, organizational skills and the ability to lift 50 lbs. is required.   Prior retail experience is not necessary, but it is helpful.

 

SNOWMAKING – Snowmakers, Pump Station & Compressor Pad Operators. These positions require the operation of a snowmobile, heavy lifting and the ability to work outdoors in any outside environment.

 

SPRING HOUSE POOL ATTENDANTS – Responsibilities include providing assistance to guests, monitoring pool and spa chemicals and assisting with the proper operation of exercise equipment.  These positions may require cash handling and strong guest service skills.

 

TICKET SALES – Ticket Sellers. The ability to handle money and process accurate transactions in a friendly and efficient manner is required.

 

TRAFFIC CONTROL ATTENDANTS – Responsibilities include coordinating traffic in busy intersections as well as drop off areas.   Individuals must have the ability to work independently and in any outside environment.

 

VOLUNTEERS – There are a variety of volunteer positions available including Snow Stars Ambassadors (children’s ski and ride program) Mountain Ambassadors, Patrol/First Aid and Racing. Specifics on each position can be obtained from the department manager or Human Resources.

 

JACKSON GORE INN – BELL STAFF/VALET – Responsibilities include assisting guests with luggage and parking.  Guest service experience required.

 

JACKSON GORE INN – FRONT DESK RECEPTIONISTS – Responsibilities include guest check in/out, and booking and following through on reservations.  Previous guest service experience required.

 

JACKSON GORE INN – HOUSEKEEPERS – Housekeepers and Crew Leaders to work in a variety of condominium units. Individuals must be able to take direction and work independently in a fast paced environment. Some heavy lifting required. These positions may require a valid driver’s license.

 

JACKSON GORE INN – SKI CHECK – Receive and return ski and snowboard equipment from guests and issue tickets. Guest service experience required.
