Field Experience
In addition to my influential course work, I have also become an active part of the BCC community. I have served as a student representative on the ADA Advisory Committee as well as the Educational Affairs Committee, a member of the Student Government Association (SGA), an editor and contributor to Zine, BCC’s literary magazine, a panelist for many different panels that BCC has held such as the Disability Pride TRIO Talk, Student Experiences and Learning in Hybrid and Online Environments, Stories for Good — Remote Learning: Stories of Accessibility for Students with Disabilities, and participated in an Achieving the Dream focus group. On top of all of that, I also created and co-chaired Allies and Advocates, a student-led support group for students with disabilities, through the Disability Resource Center, and wrote a proposal for a new concentration of study to be offered at BCC in the future.
