Skills

There were a few “soft skills” that I learned more about when taking Intro to Liberal Arts. A couple of the “soft skills” that I got better at after taking the course were critical thinking and time management. Of course, I had to apply these outside of class to indicate that I actually learned them. These skills were useful at my internship at the bakery at Kripalu. Kripalu is a yoga retreat center in Stockbridge, MA. I demonstrated that I have good time management when preparing the baked goods so that they are done on time. I did so by paying attention to the task when working instead of letting myself get sidetracked. I also worked at a reasonable pace instead of going unreasonably slow when preparing the baked goods. That proved to my supervisor that I have excellent time management skills. In addition, whenever I had a question about the task that I am doing, and my boss was busy, I had to think critically about what to do. I thought about weather or not I already knew the answer. If so, I just moved forward with the task. If not, I had to think about what the best course of action would be. In that situation, I demonstrated that I am very good at critical thinking.
