Penelope Carey grew up in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Inspired by the art that saturates the community, her artistic spirit blossomed at a young age. By elementary school, she was bringing home artistic pieces far beyond the abilities of her classmates. A watercolor set for her tenth birthday would spark a new wave of prolificity, with pages of flowers, animals, and landscapes covering the walls of her room. High school art classes brought new skills, with Penny delving into mediums such as photography, sculpture, pottery, and floral design.
