Door Sign: Come On In - We're Open

Welcome to the Open Education Mini-Curation Space!

Beginning in the summer of 2022, Berkshire Community College faculty took part in a workshop called “OER Awareness.” Although housed in the Moodle LMS, the experience invited participants to share their explorations of OER publicly with one another, providing opportunities to experience open pedagogy first-hand.

This blog serves as the shared space for the capstone activity for the OER Awareness workshop. After exploring open educational resources and practices broadly, participants have been asked to share some of their most promising open educational resources here, along with their own thoughts and questions going forward.

Participants have been invited to use a “TAG” format to structure their posts here:

  • Take: What are the resources you are most excited about to take into your practice? (For most, this will include 1-3 curated links or OER that they discovered during their earlier OER search.)
  • Ask: What question(s) regarding OER or open education practice do you still have? What topics are you most excited to continue exploring?
  • Give: What specific resources or advice about OER would you most want to pass on to others who might be interested?

For each post, we’ve also invited participants to share a title, as well as an openly licensed image to accompany their post as well. Unless otherwise directed, each post here has been made as an open resource itself, with the CC BY 4.0 license. We hope you take some time to explore one another’s posts, and to make connections with colleagues as you continue to explore OER and open educational practices.
