This is my first published book, entitled “…And My Soul Cried Out!” I began writing at the age of 11 as a way to cope with the physical, mental, emotional, and sexual abuse that I endured beginning at the age of 4. I selected this as my title because I was an abused foster child, and it was only as an adult and getting into mental health therapy that I was able to begin to find a measure of healing as a man, as a writer, and as a poet. My favorite quote is by Herbert Ward, who said what I believe is one of the truest quotes ever expressed: “Child abuse casts a shadow the length of a lifetime.” ~ Herbert Ward
