Berkshire County Forecast – Monday, Nov. 14

The following forecast is provided by Rich Girdler, in conjunction with theĀ  instructor, as part of lab work for the Introduction to Meteorology course:

Summary:

A stalled frontal boundary will vacillate back and forth over us for the next few days. This will result in mild weather for the next two days with the chance of showers. On Wednesday, a low pressure system will form on the front and move through giving us a rainy day. As the storm moves by it will drag the front through as a cold front and the weather will turn much colder on Thursday and Friday.

Monday

Occasional, mostly light, showers this afternoon. Probability of precipitation 80%.

High temperature in the mid 50s.

South-southwest winds at 5-10 mph.

Monday Night

Cloudy, breezy and quite mild for this time of year. A chance of showers in the early evening then a chance of another shower arriving after midnight. Probability of precipitation 40%.

Temperatures steady in the mid 50s.

Southwest wind at 10-15 mph.

Tuesday

Mostly cloudy early, becoming partly cloudy and quite mild by afternoon. Still a slight chance of a shower. Probability of precipitation 20%.

High temperature near 60.

West winds at 10-15 mph.

Tuesday Night

Increasing clouds. Remaining mild.

Low temperature in the mid to upper 40s.

Light southerly winds at 3-8 mph.

Wednesday

Rain, developing in the early morning and tapering off by late afternoon. Turning cooler and breezy late. Probability of precipitation 80%.

High temperature near 50 but falling through the 40s late in the afternoon.

Becoming breezy in the afternoon with wind shifting to the northwest at 10-20 mph.
