Berkshire County Forecast – Monday, Dec. 5

The following forecast is provided by Christopher Robillard, in conjunction with theĀ  instructor, as part of lab work for the Introduction to Meteorology course:

Summary: It will remain unseasonably mild today under the influence of southerly flow around the Bermuda high. We will transition to colder weather as a cold front moves SLOWLY through the region over the next few days. There will be a prolonged period of occasional relatively light rain or showers associated with the frontal passage late tonight into tomorrow night.

Monday

Partly sunny and unseasonably mild.

High temperature in the mid to upper 50s.

Winds south-southwesterly at 5-15 mph.

Monday Night

Increasing clouds with light rain or showers likely developing toward morning. Probability of precipitation 70%. Total rainfall 0.10 inches or less.

Remaining mild with low temperatures in the upper 40s.

Southwest winds 5-10 mph.

Tuesday

Occasional light rain or showers, mostly in the morning. Probability of precipitation 80%. Rainfall amounts generally between 0.10 and 0.25 inches.

Remaining unseasonably mild with high temperatures in the low to mid 50s.

Winds shifting from southwest to northwest during the afternoon at 5-15 mph.

Tuesday Night

Overcast with a good chance of a few scattered light rain showers, mostly before midnight. Probability of precipitation 50%. Rainfall less than 0.10 inches.

Cooler, with low temperatures in the upper 30s.

Northwest wind at 5-10 mph.

Wednesday

Mostly cloudy in the morning, clearing in the afternoon.

Cooler, high temperatures in the low to mid 40s.

Northwest wind at 8-15 mph.
