Hello! My name is Julia Chizik, and I am a student working towards my Liberal Arts degree at Berkshire Community College. I am 19 years old and got my start at BCC in Fall 2023 through the Positive Options early college program. I am currently enrolled in BCC’s Honors Scholar program. I plan to pursue a degree in English language and literature following my time at BCC and am currently focusing my studies in Liberal Arts on the subject. My favorite genres are realistic and literary fiction, and I also enjoy poetry and non-fiction. Some of my favorite authors include Sylvia Plath, Mary Oliver, and Sayaka Murata.

Outside of school, my favorite hobbies include art, music, and movies. I am also an avid reader and love to learn, from informing myself about my interests to finding obscure historical facts. I enjoy collecting books and magazines about the things I’m interested in, along with physical media such as CDs and records.

When thinking about my career goals and exploring where my numerous passions intersect I learned about the fields of library science and archival work, which is where my future goals lie. In the future, I hope to work in a library, archival space, or museum. My biggest aspiration is to work in a space where I can combine my love of learning, my enthusiasm for art and creativity, and my passion for knowledge sharing and preservation.
