This six-session New Faculty training course got off to a good start last Friday (March 7), with 6 participants. The first session, co-facilitated by Colin Adams, Lois Cooper, and Chris DeGregorio, and featuring guest Eleanore Velez, focused on creating a community of learners, covering such topics as ccommodating non-traditional learners, creating a welcoming classroom environment, and supporting diversity in your classroom. The course materials, offered free from the League for Innovation, include short video clips, reflection and self-assessment exercises, and additional readings. To accompany the course, participants will be reading “The Courage to Teach” by Parker Palmer.
