Skills

  • Communication- I have been working since I was 17 years old, in a variety of settings. I know how to effectively communicate to get any job done. Along with that, doing my degree online at BCC has sharpened my communications skills by doing group projects with no in person communication. I am also gaining experience by talking to professors and advisors over email and zoom, and replying to my peers discussion posts weekly.
  • Summarizing Information- Through work experience and my education I have become adept at processing information and conveying it in a digestible form. I have developed this skill at jobs where I have written shift reports daily, and at BCC where I have taken History courses, where it is important to read a lot of information and understand it for essays or tests.
  • Technology- Efficient in Google Docs/Slides/Excel with a lot of experience in each.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills- I work well in any team environment and I’m easy to get along with. Working various jobs and during my time at BCC I have collaborated with people with a wide variety of viewpoints and life experiences. I am able to maintain positive relationships with all and I pride myself on being respectful and professional.
  • Driven and Capable- I take pride in any work that I do. At school I work hard to understand the material and set goals for myself each semester. I do this while also working a full time job. My hard work and time management skills are proven by the fact that I made the Dean’s list my first semester at BCC, while being a good employee at my work. For my day job I am self taught in a trade in which I had no previous experience. I achieved this by taking it upon myself to watch instructional videos and learning through experience. This highlights that I will do whatever it takes to put myself in a position to succeed.
