Literature Review:
The Effects of Social Media on Public Opinion and Political Campaigns

This literature review analyzes how social media shapes public opinion and influences political campaigns, with a focus on misinformation, echo chambers, and opinion dynamics. Drawing from interdisciplinary research—including media studies, political science, and psychology—it examines the structural and cognitive mechanisms behind belief formation in digital spaces. Through critical synthesis and thematic organization, this project demonstrates scholarly evaluation, cross-domain thinking, and a commitment to understanding how digital environments impact both democratic discourse and mental wellbeing.
