Habitat for Humanity
Location: In and around Pittsfield. Sites vary.
Schedule: Saturdays 8am-1pm
Volunteer with Neighborhood Revitalization projects. They are similar to regular house builds. Depending on the date BCC students are scheduled to work, activities may include: working on flooring, laying foundation, carpentry for a deck, or painting. We promise that nothing is too technical—and of course there will be a construction supervisor and Habitat staff on site for guidance. Habitat is willing to work with people with any level of experience.

South Congregational Church – Food Pantry
110 South Street
The food pantry distributes food on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s from 8:00 to 11:00 AM in Barrett Hall. Students are needed to help Mary Wheat and other volunteers with distributing food; bringing food boxes from the storage area of the church to the food pantry. Students would be asked to take initiative and help with whatever is needed. Students are also encouraged to chat with families to help make them feel welcome. The pantry serves an average of 400 families a week. They also have a children’s book table at the food pantry run by Jean Bousquet. All books are free for children and families who are guests at the food pantry.
