Berkshire County Forecast – Thursday, May 10

The following forecast is provided by Topaz Ross Kelso, in conjunction with the  instructor, as part of lab work for the Introduction to Meteorology course:

Summary: Overall it will be getting nicer over the next few days, as a low pressure system pulls out, reducing both cloud cover and chance of precipitation.  Northwest flow keeps it cool on Friday, with overall sunny and turning milder throughout the weekend.

Thursday Night

There will be a chance of rain in the evening, it will be mostly cloudy with decreasing clouds towards morning.

Low temperature near 40.

Light westerly winds.

Friday

The clouds will have cleared out by morning, leaving mostly sunny skies with brisk winds from the northwest.

High temperatures in the low 60s in Pittsfield and North Adams, mid 60s in Great Barrington and Sheffield and near 60 in the hilltowns.

Brisk northwest winds at 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Friday Night

Clear and calm conditions will result in colder temperatures with scattered frost possible.

Low temperature in the mid 30s.

Saturday

Mostly sunny and warmer.

High temperatures in the low 70s in Pittsfield, North Adams and the hilltowns, mid 70s in Great Barrington and Sheffield.

Winds 10-15 mph from the northwest.

Saturday Night

Saturday night will see a few more clouds coming in.

Low temperatures in the high forties and a

Light southwesterly wind that will shift to northwesterly towards morning.

Sunday

Partly sunny and remaining mild with the slight chance of showers or even a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Probability of precipitation 20%.

High temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s once again.

Northwest winds at 5-10 mph.

Thursday night

Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Probability of precipitation 30%.

Low temperatures in the low 50’s.

Light southeast winds.

Friday

Mostly cloudy and warmer with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

Temperatures are going to rise to the low to mid 70’s.

Winds at 5-10 mph from the SW in the morning, shifting to the NW in the afternoon.

Friday night

Mostly cloudy.

Temperatures decreasing to the low 50’s.

Light northerly winds.

Saturday

It looks like we’re getting a break with the clouds clearing in morning, becoming partly cloudy by afternoon.

Comfortable  temperatures with a high in the mid 60’s.

Winds will be blowing 5-10MPH from the north.

Saturday night

The skies will clear up and them temperatures will descend to the low 40’s.

Light northeast winds.

Sunday

Mostly sunny with a welcoming temperature in the high 60’s.

Winds at 5-10 MPH from the north.
